About

Two senior practitioners. You work with both.

TIF Synergy is a tax technology consultancy for Heads of Tax and CFOs, serving Ireland from Dublin, the Netherlands from Amsterdam and clients in Switzerland. We have sat on both sides of the table: inside tax functions and building the software they buy and implement.

The people you work with

Raj Balgobind and Hank Moonen have each worked on both sides of a tax technology decision: as Head of Tax or tax director buying and using it and as the people who built, sold or implemented it.

Our principles, written down so you can hold us to them

Experienced

Senior people do the work. We have run tax functions, led Big Four tax technology teams and built a tax software company, so we know what the work involves on each side.

Independent

No vendor ties and no product to push. Our software is free for in-house tax teams and any vendor fee linked to your work is disclosed and passed back to you or declined. We will tell you when your current adviser or platform is not serving you.

We keep it simple

Plain language, a single-page result and every project at a fixed fee with a written end date. If an off-the-shelf tool beats a custom build or the right answer is to do less, we say so. We are practical: we help put a plan into practice, not only write it.

01

Tax practitioners first

Every deliverable that touches the law is drafted or reviewed by a qualified tax practitioner. AI helps; the practitioner signs.

02

Methodology open

We publish how we work: playbooks, templates and data models. You pay for the work and any software we build for you, priced in writing, never for access to the method.

03

Microsoft stack, every time

Anything we build for you runs on Azure and can be moved into your own environment, because we never invented our own runtime.

04

Deliverables, not decks

Advice is the entry point. The deliverable is something you use in your own environment: a computation pack, an operating-model design or a deployed system.

05

Every claim cited

When we say the law requires something, you get the source to check it. The same goes for anything our tools produce.

06

We challenge incumbents

We will tell you when your current adviser's approach is wrong, when their platform is overpriced and when the work should not be ours.

Two companies, one practice

TIF Synergy has worked with clients in the Netherlands for ten years through Blauw Belastingen B.V. and opened in Ireland in 2026 as TIF Synergy Ireland Limited. Dutch clients contract with Blauw; everyone else contracts with the Irish company. Registration details are at the foot of every page.

Our software and how it is hosted are described on the Software page.

Talk to the people who would do the work.

No account manager in between. Fifteen minutes and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
