Tax-tech advisory

Your tax advisor bills the hour. We deliver the outcome.

TIF Synergy is a tax technology advisory practice with 10 years in the Netherlands, expanding into Ireland in 2026, built for in-house tax and finance leaders. We challenge the hourly model: fixed deliverables, transparent methodology, a written end date, software that runs as a SaaS solution or inside your own environment. We cover the direct tax reporting cycle, from source data through computation and disclosure to returns ready to file, plus the technology and automation that runs it: ERP configuration, Azure builds, AI where it earns its place. Tax advisers with an engineering background, registered with the Nederlandse Orde van Belastingadviseurs (NOB), the Dutch professional body for tax advisers.

How we work

A deliverable on the table. Not a slide deck.

The hourly advisory model creates dependency. We operate differently: the challenge comes first, the technology follows. Fixed scope, agreed deliverable, written end date. The methodology is documented and yours to keep. The software runs as a SaaS solution or inside your own environment. You choose the service level: light implementation, full automation, strategic advisor, or a second opinion on what your current advisors are recommending.

We use AI where it earns its place: retrieval, document understanding and compliance-grade automation. The deliverable is always the goal; the technology is how we reach it.

What we cover

Two practice areas. Tax reporting and the technology to run it.

We work across the direct tax reporting cycle and the technology, automation and AI layer that underpins it, inside the systems your team already operates. Our advisory practice runs on international tax, built on 10 years in the Netherlands and our 2026 expansion into Ireland, with a network that extends to further jurisdictions, including the UK and Switzerland, where a client engagement requires it.

01 · Direct tax

The reporting cycle, end to end.

Seven steps take a year's numbers from the ledger to returns and reports ready to file: source data, mapping, computation (including Pillar Two), disclosure, documentation (Master File, Local File, CbCR), a filing-ready handover (including the GloBE Information Return) and the return-to-provision (RTP) true-up. Implemented inside your consolidation tool, ERP or EPM.

02 · Tax technology, automation and AI

The right tool for the actual problem.

We match the technology to the ask, not the other way around. The approach is "it depends" by design: a configuration change in a system you already own, a workflow that removes a recurring manual step, a custom build on Azure, or AI where it earns its place. We keep it practical and scalable, and we tell you when a solution would break or not work rather than forcing it on you. Any commission, referral fee or incentive a vendor offers us for your work is disclosed to you and passed back in full, or declined. Why us, below, has the full statement.

How an engagement runs

Five stages from first conversation to signed-off deliverable.

The technology decision happens at stage 3, not stage 1.

Why us

Two choices that shape how we work.

Vendor neutral, and open about our own software

We are not tied to any software vendor. We recommend and build on the platform that fits your systems, whatever any vendor pays. Where one of our own tools is an option, we say so and tell you what else would do the job. If a technology partnership ever produces a commission, referral fee or other incentive linked to your work, we disclose it to you and either pass its full value back to you or decline it. We keep none of it.

We automate the process. Independent advisers review the position.

A firm that earns its fees from advisory hours has less reason to automate them away. Compliance work also rightly rewards caution, because a filed position has to hold up. That caution is exactly what you want in a review of the tax position, and less of what you need when redesigning the process that produces it. We are paid for fixed deliverables, not hours, so our incentive runs the other way: automate as much of the direct tax process as we safely can, and keep the tax rules applied to your numbers visible and cited rather than hidden inside the automation. Where you want an independent view on a judgement call, you appoint a firm of your choosing to review it and we provide the working papers. Your choice, not a default and not a gatekeeper.

The TIF Suite

Software we built for the work we do.

TaxLex for research, TaxTrack for workflow, TaxTag for documents, TaxMap for account mapping. Where a piece of advisory work recurs across clients, we have built the software to operate it. All four run on Microsoft Azure, as a SaaS solution or inside your own environment.

Infrastructure

Built on Microsoft Azure. Deployed into your environment.

Our software runs as a SaaS solution or inside your own Azure environment, built on infrastructure that is ISO 27001, SOC 2 and GDPR-certified at the platform layer. Where you deploy into your own environment, your data stays there, under your identity controls, behind your network perimeter. No client lock-in. No data exfiltration. Your IT and security teams get a system they already know how to govern.

01

EU data residency

All data stored and processed in Azure West Europe.

02

Your infrastructure

Runs as a SaaS solution or inside your own environment, by design.

03

Compliance-ready platform

Azure carries ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR alignment at the infrastructure layer.

04

Audit trail by default

Every write event logged; BSN/PII redacted at write boundary.

Technology partnerships

Formal partnerships are in progress.

We build on the Microsoft stack and work daily with the platforms our clients already run. We are formalising a small set of technology partnerships to make that easier on both sides. Where a partnership produces a commission, referral fee or incentive linked to your work, we disclose it and pass its full value back to you or decline it. We do not recommend a vendor because of what they pay us. Details of the partnerships themselves land here once they are signed, not before.

Deliverable shapes

Choose the level of service. We scope it in writing.

Every engagement has a written scope, a written success criterion and a written end date. We tell you when AI is the wrong tool, when an off-the-shelf product beats a custom build, and when the boring solution is the right one.

How we typically engage

  • Fixed-scope assignment
One deliverable. Agreed price. Four to twelve weeks.
  • Embedded strategic advisor
Two to five days a month. Hands-on at CFO and Head-of-Tax level.
  • Build-and-hand-over
We design, build and transfer ownership with full documentation.
  • Second opinion / challenge
Objective review of your current advisors' approach, fees or roadmap.
The advisory side

If your current advisory firm is also the one selling the license, that is worth a conversation.

A 30-minute call costs nothing. We tell you honestly whether we can help, and we do not follow up until you ask us to.
