Capacity, roles, skills, resilience and leadership. Do we have the right capacity, roles, skills and accountabilities?
When did you last independently review your tax function, not just your tax position? A focused, senior-led assessment of how the team, process, technology and data, governance, sourcing and business alignment work together and where the next investment would create the most value.
Tax functions are carrying more regulation, more data and more reporting obligations, often with the same headcount as three years ago. Software vendors are built to sell software. Outsourcing providers are built to take on work. Large advisory firms are built to deploy teams. Each can be the right answer at the right moment, and each has a reason to hope it is. So do we: we build software and we deliver the work that can follow. That is why the Review is sold on its own at a fixed fee, carries no sales quota and never recommends one of our own tools.
Where one of our own tools could help with what comes after, we say so separately, tell you we built it and name the alternatives that would also do the job. See why us.
A useful profile, not a hard boundary: complex enough to need a professional tax operating model, not so large that every issue gets solved by adding another specialist team, system or adviser.
Each dimension is assessed for business fit, cost, risk, scalability and readiness to change. The aim is a clear view of what works, what constrains performance and what to do next, not a theoretical score.
Capacity, roles, skills, resilience and leadership. Do we have the right capacity, roles, skills and accountabilities?
Efficiency, standardisation, controls and handovers. Which activities should be simplified, standardised or stopped?
Architecture, adoption, data quality, automation and AI. Are current systems used well, and where would new capability pay back?
Ownership, risk, oversight and decision rights. Are ownership, controls, decisions and escalation clear?
In-house, shared services, advisers, managed services and vendors. What should be kept, improved, automated, bought, built or outsourced?
Ambition, budget, culture, timing and internal dynamics. Does the plan match what the business can actually fund, staff and absorb?
A focused, senior-led review of the current tax function. Interviews and evidence become a concise diagnosis and a priority agenda. Stop here with an actionable review in hand, or continue if the findings justify it. Your decision, not ours.
Where you choose to continue: a practical future-state design grounded in your ambition, resources, budget, culture and change capacity. Each key process is challenged: keep, improve, automate, buy, build, outsource or stop.
Support on your side of the table while the blueprint is delivered: challenging choices, vendors and delivery, and keeping decisions connected to the blueprint. Implementation, ours or someone else's, happens only if you choose it here. It is not the default destination.
Where TIF delivers the implementation itself, it runs on the same terms as the rest of our work: fixed scope, a written deliverable and, where you want it, an independent tax-technical review that you appoint. See how a full engagement runs.
A concise view of the function's strengths, constraints, risks and most important choices.
An evidence-based assessment across the six dimensions, with the context behind each rating.
Internal strengths and weaknesses, external opportunities and threats, plus the critical dependencies between them.
A ranked set of actions, each assessed for impact, effort, investment, risk and time to value.
Sequenced choices, owners, prerequisites and decision gates for the next 12 to 36 months.
Where commissioned: a pragmatic design for roles, processes, technology, data, governance and sourcing.
What the Review is not: an audit, an assurance engagement or an opinion on your tax positions, and we file nothing on your behalf. Where it surfaces a technical tax question, the Review names it for you or your adviser to resolve. If we have worked on your tax function before, or you already use one of our tools, we tell you at the outset and the Review says where it is assessing our own work.

A short discussion establishes whether a Tax Function 360° Review would create value, what the scope should be and which stakeholders should be involved. If the timing is not right, we will say so.
